The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead

Summery-
Over the past few months Sydney Sage has been put in some sticky situations, but never one as bad as she is stuck in now. Along side of dealing with the aftermath of the kiss that appeared in The Golden Lily, Sydney also has to act like nothing has changed towards the Alchemist and stop an evil witch from killing young girls with the ability to become powerful witches. Hey, no one said that high school was easy, even the second time around.

My Thoughts-
As always Richelle Mead's newest novel is refreshing and brings attention to a different kind of vampire. However she is moving away from the original plot line with the dhampir, moroi, and strigoi and moving towards the old fashion kind of magic. Witchcraft.

The pervious installment of this series had concluded with Adrian kissing Sydney, and that kiss set up most of the plot (for the non-magical part anyway) for this book. The majority of this book Sydney is fighting her feeling for Adrian and attempting not to give in to that desire, which we know as hormones. What this book  kind of feels like is a twisted version of Romeo and Juliet. Both of them have a forbidden relationship, both have an age difference (though one is certainly greater than the other.) The only major thing that is different is that killing of the lovers at the end.

I think that this book shows a side of Sydney that we have not gotten to see in any of her pervious appearances. This shows the part that actually like a normal teenager, the part that just wants to be loved by someone. Some would say that is her weakness, but I say it is her strength.

Overall I would give this book a 4.5 out of 5.

Hope to have you reading again soon,
